Romantic Valentines Day Poems

Romance is incorporated in the air. Chocolate hearts, roses, and greeting cards abound. If you really want to be romantic, ignore all of these commercial products this Valentine’s Day. Purchasing a card or some candy in the store only shows that you’re doing what’s expected. Going further to be creative shows that you actually care. If you want to really be romantic take time to find out what is special and meaningful to her. That gesture is going to be worth more than the biggest chocolate heart.

I Love You More Than Applesauce

I love you more than applesauce,
Than peaches and a plum,
Than chocolate hearts,
And cherry tarts,
And berry bubble-gum.

I love you more than lemonade,
And seven-layer cake,
Than lollipops,
And candy drops,
And thick vanilla shake.

I love you more than marzipan,
Than marmalade on toast;
For I love pies
Of any size,
But I love you the most.

To a Baby Boy

Who I’m I shall not say,
However i send you this bouquet
With this query, baby mine:
“Will you be my valentine?”

See these roses blushing blue,
Very similar to your eyes of hue;
While these violets are the red
Of your cheeks. It can be said
Ne’er before was babe as if you.

And I think it is quite true
No one e’er before to-day
Sent so wondrous a bouquet
Because these posies aforesaid–
Roses blue and violets red!

Sweet, repay me sweets for sweets–
‘Tis your lover who entreats!
Smile upon me, baby mine–
Be my little valentine!

Roses are Red

Roses are Red
Violets are Blue
Carnations are Sweet
And so are you.

And so are they
That give back this
And when we meet
We’ll possess a kiss.

Love is like a Cabbage

My love is like a cabbage
Divided into two,
The leaves I give to others,
The heart I give to you.

Veggie Valentine

You may not “carrot” all for me
The way I take care of you.
You may “turnip” your nose
After i plead with you
But if your “heart” should “beet” with mine
Forever “lettuce” hope
There isn’t any reason in the world
Why we two “Cantaloupe.”
