A Christmas Message
want to tell you
Just how precious you’re to me,
My every thought of you
Is as loving as can be
My heart is totally filled with things
That words alone can’t say,
This comes especially for you
With love on Xmas day.
At Christmas Time
At Christmas time, we deck the hall
With holly branches brave and tall,
With sturdy pine and hemlock bright
As well as in the Yule log’s dancing light
We tell old tales of field and fight
At Christmas time.
At Christmas time we pile the board
With flesh and fruit and vintage stored,
And ‘mid the laughter and also the glow
We tread a measure soft and slow,
And kiss beneath the mistletoe
At Christmas time.
Best Gift Ever
Christmas is really a time of year,
Everyone seems to be full of cheer.
Decorations everywhere, what a beautiful sight,
Our home glows so colorful and bright.
But best of all, our family together,
This alone is the best gift ever.
Christmas isn’t about what you get,
A gift you didn’t want, don’t you fret.
Look around you and then you’ll see,
You have your family, after which there’s me.
I’ve loved Christmas from the very start,
Not for the gifts, but for what I feel in my heart.
The Christ-child lay on Mary’s lap,
His hair was just like a light.
(O weary, weary were the world,
But here is all aright.)
The Christ-child lay on Mary’s breast
His hair was like a star.
(O stern and cunning would be the kings,
But here the true hearts are.)
The Christ-child lay on Mary’s heart,
His hair was like a fire.
(O weary, weary is the world,
But here the earth’s desire.)
The Christ-child stood on Mary’s knee,
His hair was just like a crown,
And all the flowers looked up at Him,
And all the stars looked down.
On the eve of Christmas
Surely I’ll have you near
I’ll wrap my arms around you
And hold my darling dear
I’ll kiss those lips of wine
While you stand ‘neath the mistletoe
My heart will follow you
Everywhere you go.
