Charades

Charades is an excellent party game for encouraging guests to unwind and have fun, and creates the perfect opportunity for people who do not know each other well to interact. Frantically attempting to guess what television show or movie a person is describing through actions circumvents awkward introductions and conversations about the weather. As an additional bonus, charades does not require any materials to play, making it a very cost-effective form of entertainment, suitable for any situation. It is so easy to organize charades, party organizers have the option to introduce the game with no prior preparation, making it an ideal choice if there is a lull in the party and people start to look bored.

Birthday Bingo

This is a great game if you have guests of all ages and it is not often that you find games that both children and adults will understand and have fun with. Before the party, prepare bingo cards that features text, or pictures/icons of things that the birthday person enjoys for example bike riding, fishing or fashion. Then hand out the cards and call out the bingo squares as usual.

Pass The Shot

This game is a variation of ‘pass the parcel’. Instead of a box, pass an empty glass around the group with the music playing in the background. When the music stops, the one holding the glass will take a shot of alcohol and complete a pre-decided task. As the game goes along, it will be hilarious to watch people struggling with menial tasks like threading a needle.

Trivial Pursuit On The Run

Place Trivial Pursuit cards throughout your party room with signs inviting your guests to pick them up and read the questions to other party goers, thus beginning conversations with various guests.

Drunk Musical Chairs

Arrange a row of chairs and place a shot of booze beneath each chair. Make a few chits containing some embarrassing punishments. They could include singing a song, dancing alone with one hand tied at the back, or some other activity that is funny. Make sure you have one chair less than the number of participants; for example if you have 12 guests, arrange only 11 chairs.

Now play the music and ask the guests to circle the chairs. Stop the music abruptly and ask the person left without a chair to select a chit and perform the embarrassing task. Those occupying the chairs will drink the shot of booze kept underneath their chairs. For the next round, refill the glasses with booze, and remove one chair from the arrangement. The game will get crazier as the guests will get tipsier with every round.

Farmer Giles

This is a fun teamwork game that will get your guests communicating as well as laughing. Before the party, hide approximately 10 small items like an apple, photo, umbrella, stuffed toy etc around the venue. Make a list of the hidden objects and copy this out so there is one list for each team then put the name of a different farm animal such as sheep, goat, pig etc. at the top of each list. Divide the guests into small teams of at least 5 members and get each team to decide on a leader. Give one list to each team and inform them of the perimeters of the search area (and any restricted areas). The leaders should stand together while the rest of the players to go and look for the objects and when they find one, they should not pick it up but instead make the noise of their given animal so that their leader can follow the noise and collect the found item.
